Gallery Theatre gathers the words from the classics and brings them beautifully costumed and presented as an integral part of any celebration day

Shakespeare

A sonnet as part of a ceremony; a classic love scene in the setting sun under a castle wall; a comic sketch before a blazing fire as an entrée to supper or a midsummer night's dream in a fragrant garden.

Have the words of the great bard to life using the backdrop of your chosen venue.

Chaucer

Perhaps your taste is for the fruity and the ribald. Let the Miller tell his bawdy tale of a cuckolded carpenter, a stolen kiss and a burnt bum and bring merriment to you banquet table. Have the Wife of Bath instruct the company in the secrets of nuptial bliss or have a moral tale told by a pair of comic chickens. There is a Canterbury tale to suit all occasions.

Commedia Del Arte

You might want to liven up the day with a touch of Carnival, as Harlequin, Pierrot and Columbine revel in a world of misrule with wisecrack and slapstick fun.

Other classic characters of Commedia could be added and include the ill-tempered Pantalon; the purveyor of potions, Dottore; the cowardly Capitano or the lunatic Punchinello.

There are endless ways in which combinations of these characters can entertain.

You may well have your own favourite poets and playwrights. Given a little notice, we will perform your choice of pieces, and are happy to adapt performances to fit in to available space and time - we have even performed Murder Mysteries at weddings!

Our versatile performers are able to turn from actors into minstrels and balladeers, magicians and jugglers, jesters and Masters of Ceremony or Lords of Misrule.
